LINDSEY’S STORY · MULTIPLE REMOVALS

Londoner and podcaster, Lindsey, talks about her laser tattoo removal journey with NAAMA.

I’m a northerner in London, who is getting tired of London and wants to be close to the sea for surfing! I used to be a Physiotherapist and for the last 4 years I’ve looked after my own business, partnering with fashion and beauty brands. I also started a podcast with my best friend, which then turned into a book that came out last year; if you imagine talking to your two older sisters about everything from grief to sex, you’d be on the right track! It’s called ‘Things You Can’t Ask Yer Mum’.

I have 8 tattoos and 4 of them are biting the dust. The tattoos I am having removed I got around 8-10 years ago. I’m a very impulsive person and none of them have any meaning! There is a kind of diamond shape on my inside arm, the word ‘rose’ on my outer wrist, the word ‘wonder’ on my ribs (don’t ask) and finally a star constellation on the back of my arm that looks like someone has walked past me and drawn on me with a pen. They just don’t mean anything or fit with me and my life anymore.

“My experience with NAAMA has been so wonderful. The team are really lovely and professional, from the treatment to the aftercare.”

I always find new tattoos exciting, which is why I continue to get more. I think I’m quite close to finishing the removal journey now. I’m glad to see them really fading away!

My experience with NAAMA has been so wonderful. The team are really lovely and professional, from the treatment to the aftercare. The most important thing for me when considering removal was that the skin wouldn't be damaged/broken and leave a scar. I found the removal painful on my ribs, but it’s fine everywhere else.

If I had to give advice to someone considering tattoo removal I would say always choose a reputable business, and look at their results before you decide.

Lindsey's progress

Start of treatment

Large ink particles begin to break down in the skin.

In progress

The tattoo begins to blur. Thinner areas fade, denser areas remain intact.

Fading continues

The tattoo loses its form, lighter blacks disappear.

Removal is going well

The ink is almost removed, leaving the skin smooth and clear.
